Amniocentesis is a prenatal diagnostic test offered between
15 -18 weeks of pregnancy to exclude or confirm the presence
of chromosomal abnormalities.
Chorionic Villus Sampling
Chorionic villus sampling (CVS) involves taking a small
amount of placental tissue (chorionic villi) which has the
same genetic information as the fetus for analysis in the
laboratory
First Trimester Screening
First trimester screening (nuchal translucency) is a prenatal
screening test performed at 11-14 weeks to identify pregnancies
at increased risk of Down
syndrome (Trisomy 21).
