Maternity and Neonatal Services
|Armadale Health Service (AHS) is a major outer metropolitan hospital, which had 2250 births in 2016/2017 financial year. There are 5 labour and birth suits, a 23 antenatal and postnatal beds and a 6 bed antenatal assessment unit.
It caters for low and medium risk deliveries, with four consultant obstetricians staffing the public unit and seven GP-obstetricians staffing both the public and private units. If private patients require a caesarean section they transfer to the public unit, and after delivery may return to the private ward for postnatal care.
