Educational requirements for midwives and nurses who are new employees to KEMH. These activities are to be completed once only, within the specified time frame following commencement of employment.

Accountability and ethical decision making (AEDM)

  • All existing staff
  • All new employees (other than casual, sessional and contract staff with a total appointment period of less than 3 months) are to undertake AEDM training, within 3 months of commencing employment

Activity based Activity based funding and management (ABF/M)

Midwives, Registered Nurses, Enrolled nurses

Particular modules have been deemed mandatory for NMHS staff to complete according to their position/role.

20 minutes for each module

NMHS online training package to inform staff about Activity Based Funding and Management (ABF/M).

This online passport contains reading/activities to familiarise you with the Safety, Quality and Performance (SQP) ‘principles and drivers’ at WNHS.

You are required to present your completed SQP Passport checklist and certificate at your 3 month performance development review (PDR).

Graduates and Midwifery Students only

  • Graduate midwives are required to complete all activities including the SQP checklist.
  • Graduate nurses are not required to complete the SQP checklist, your certificate should be available for your 3 month PDR but your completion will not be recorded.
  • Midwifery students will be provided access but are not required to complete the reading/activities or checklist as part of their program.
