Changes to patient visiting times during COVID-19

Changes to patient visiting times during COVID-19
June 2, 2020

Visiting hours have changed.

From today, 2 June, visiting restrictions at our hospital will be partially eased, by increasing our visiting times.

King Edward Memorial Hospital will now open for visiting between 3pm and 7pm daily.

Up to two visitors are permitted at one time; however we must always adhere to physical distancing requirements, so in most cases only one visitor will be allowed with the patient at any one time. Please check with your ward team about how the restrictions apply to you.

Maternity patients can now be accompanied by two birthing partners in the KEMH birthing suites and in the Family Birth Centre.

Front door screening is still taking place and we ask that people do not visit if they have:

  • tested positive for COVID-19
  • a fever or a cold or a flu-like illness, including symptoms such as, sore throat, cough, fatigue and difficulty breathing
  • travelled outside Western Australia and are therefore required to self-isolate for 14 days
  • been in contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus and are therefore required to self-isolate for 14 days.
