St James Transitional Care Unit is an innovative approach to community-based mental health care.

It is an evidence-based, innovative approach to mental health care to be delivered by East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) in St James.

The 40-person residential service will provide contemporary staged recovery support for people experiencing mental health issues - offering transitional care between the hospital setting and community living.

The service will support adults experiencing mental health issues, aged 18 to 64 years, who are ready and able to participate in a mental health rehabilitation program whilst living in a community setting. Residents will be focusing on individual recovery goals for independent living, work and/or study. The service will be located at 38 Alday Street, St James, and is due to open in a staged fashion starting mid-year.

You are warmly invited to come along to our local drop-in information sessions to find out more. No RSVP required.
