Travel to and from King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) is simple for patients, staff, volunteers and visitors. Our hospital is located in Subiaco, close to public transport facilities and just four kilometres from Perth city. We are bordered by Bagot Road (main entrance), Railway Road, Hensman Road and Barker Road.

Public Transport

The 27 bus service stops outside the front entrance of the hospital, and runs from Claremont train station, through Subiaco then along St George’s Terrace to East Perth, approximately every half an hour on week days, and hourly on weekends.

KEMH is located within walking distance of both Subiaco and Daglish train stations. In peak hours most trains stop at Subiaco, while Daglish receives every second train.

If you are walking from Subiaco train station, head out the station and up Rokeby Road, then turn right at Bagot Road and walk until you reach the front entrance of KEMH on the right (13 minutes). If you are walking from Daglish train station, walk north up Railway Road and cross at the lights intersecting Railway and Bagot Roads; the hospital is a couple of blocks up on the left (9 minutes).

Taxi ranks

Taxi ranks can be found on Bagot Road, outside the main entrance. A free taxi phone is available inside the front foyer.

Pedestrians and cyclists

KEMH is located near the Principle Shared Path that runs adjacent to the Fremantle railway line. Bike racks are located next to Centenary House, near the Op Shop, accessible via Hensman Road.

Patient set down

There are a number of short term patient set down areas throughout the campus. A patient set down area with direct access to the main entry is located on Bagot Road. An additional set-down area is located on Hensman Road, outside Centenary House.
