Congratulations Dr Scott White 27 November 2023 Congratulations to Dr Scott White who was recently awarded The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) Distinguished Service Medal. Dr Scott White was awarded for the remarkable contribution and impact he has made to the College over many years through his work on numerous committees, working groups and advisory groups, as well as his role as a Councillor. Moreover, Scott's commitment to teaching and supporting junior doctors including as a member of the 'Supportive Seniors' group offering additional support for trainees facing challenges. A Distinguished Service Medal is awarded to members of the College who have made a distinguished and sustained contribution to the work of the College. Dr Scott White was awarded the medal at the New Fellows and Awards Presentation Ceremony as part of the Annual Scientific Meeting. Congratulations Scott.

Congratulations Dr Emma Allanson 24 November 2023 Congratulations to Dr Emma Allanson who recently won two international awards in her line of work. Emma was awarded the Early Career Investigator Award for the Gynaecologic Cancer InterGroup (GCIG) Endometrial Cancer Consensus Conference - Clinical Research (ECCC-CR). The process was internationally competitive and awarded to four early career researchers in gynaecologic oncology in the world. During the nomination process, the ECCC-CR executive remarked the number of very strong applications from a range of specialties. Emma was given the opportunity to participate in the consensus conference earlier this month in Seoul, and contributed to the development of guidelines on the conduct of endometrial cancer trials. Research highlights need for understanding of endometriosis 02 November 2023 Congratulations to King Edward Memorial Hospital Clinician, Dr Jacqueline Frayne who recently had her paper published in the Australian Journal of General Practice. Her research on challenges in diagnosing and managing endometriosis highlights the need for us to better understand from a general practitioner's perspective, so we can best support women and reduce the diagnostic delay. This comes as new research from the Australian Government Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) released new statistics reporting an increase to around 14 per cent of women aged 44 to 49 are estimated to have endometriosis. This increase indicates that 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed with endometriosis in their lifetime.
